誕生:1841年13月3日、イリノイ州エルク・グローブ。
死亡:1897年6月21日、アイオワ州ドビュークで、暴れ馬によって馬車から放り出されて。
埋葬地:イリノイ州フォレスト・パークのフォレスト・ホーム墓地。

ClaraはAbel FiskeとSarah Rockwell Jonesの娘で、Henry Clay Scottの夫(1861年に結婚)。

彼女は1856年にイリノイ州シカゴで、C.M. Cadyによって創設された最初の音楽学校に入る。そしてアイオワ州ライオンズの女子神学校で音楽を教える。Scottはそこで、彼女の賛美歌の多くを出版する手助けをしたHoratio Palmerに会い、感銘を受ける。彼女はその早すぎる死を迎えるまでに3冊の賛美歌集を出版した。
